An Armload of Remnants
Chasing Away the Shadows
The night is almost gone,
and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside
the deeds of darkness and put on
the armor of light.
-Romans 13:12
Who - What - Why
Chasing Away the Shadows comes out of six decades of hard-earned wisdom. I belong to the Scar Clan.
I am a mature woman with a wake of poor choices and painful memories behind me.
I gave away my soul, my true self to those who abused that gift. I threw my inheritance in the trash,
and alienated myself from those I should have loved the most.
I mistreated my body and mind with addictions.
I fell into dark and deep pits of shame and sorrow.
God pulled me out and restored what I chose to break.
Today, I am living in the light! The shadows no longer hold me captive.
I know, without a doubt, that it is time to leave a legacy of hope.
The Bible says in Psalm 90:10 – The days of our lives are seventy years;
and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet their boast is only labor and sorrow;
for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
As my backdrop, I have landed in a small rural town in Colorado.
I can see the mountains out my windows, and deer roam freely through
my towering, beautiful evergreens.
Psalm 16 sings about my life right now – particularly verses 5 and 6
O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes I have a good inheritance.
If you are interested in understanding what God can reconstruct and restore and how He does it
you are welcome here. May you be blessed.
May you find something that speaks to you
and helps in your own search and rescue mission.
The most important person in a rescue mission is the Rescuer. Grab His outstretched hand.
